Purchase Jewelry on a Cruise

Think twice before you leave your money in a foreign country.  The cruise lines do a great job of helping promote jewelry purchases by their recommended jewelry sources at ports of call.  Make sure they disclose what their financial interest is in the transactio. The guarantees don't mean much after they have your money.  The jewelry stores and cruises make it virtually impossible to get your money back when you return to the states.  Rarely have I ever seen anyone get a good deal while on a cruise, unfortunate that I have to be the bearer of bad news, once the excitement wears off when landed on US ground.  Tough to explain to family members how you got sucked into such a bad deal.   Don't ever spend over $200 when on a vacation cruiseline at least it won't be your life savings. Remember, not much in the way of jewelry comes from the islands, so why the great deal?  Be sure to get your jewelry appraisal as soon as you get home.
